This was always going to be a pivotal offseason for Brandon Beane. The fired head coach Sean McDermott after another failure to make the Super Bowl with Josh Allen at quarterback. But instead of firing Beane, too, the Bills promoted him from GM to president of football operations. It was up to Beane to prove that owner Terry Pegula made the right call. He had a decent start, trading for DJ Moore and re-signing Connor Chris Sale Jersey McGovern. But since free agency started, it's been nearly nothing. The Bills got cornerback Dee Alford, and they got a backup QB, Kyle Allen. Besides that, it's just been some re-signings and some restructurings more than two days after the league's legal tampering period began. MORE: Sure, the Bills didn't have a ton of cap space. But there are other teams without much space that have done plenty. And yes, Beane deserves a tiny benefit of the doubt, because there are still big names out there both in free agent and trade rumors. But the Bills haven't blown anyone away with their activity, and it's prompting social media posts like this one, which copies the format of the backing out of their trade for Maxx Crosby on Tuesday: Brandon Beane has backed out of his participation in FA.
