Urban population growth is increasing wastewater volumes, while aging sewer networks require rehabilitation to prevent leakage, blockages, and structural failures. CIPP can provide an efficient option for restoring these networks.

Digital inspection technologies are also complementing CIPP deployment. Cameras, sensors, and data analytics can help contractors assess pipe conditions before and after installation. This improves project planning and provides greater visibility into rehabilitation outcomes.

Although CIPP remains dominant, pipe bursting is gaining attention as a fast-growing alternative for projects requiring replacement and capacity expansion. The coexistence of multiple trenchless technologies is likely to create a diversified market landscape.

As municipalities continue searching for durable and less disruptive pipeline rehabilitation methods, CIPP is expected to remain a central technology within the trenchless pipe relining industry.
