Improvements in laser systems, powder quality, process monitoring, and automated inspection are expected to improve manufacturing consistency.

As aerospace companies continue to investigate lightweight structures, localized production, and digital manufacturing, demand for specialized metal powders is expected to expand. High-performance alloys, powder recycling, and AI-supported quality control are likely to become increasingly important areas of development.
